Peter identifies, with the help of slides, that the rejoicing that Paul talks about in his letter to the believers in Philippi is not the sort that lasts for a short time, but an attitude of joy that results from our knowing that God loves us. Joy is spoken about so much in this letter, that Paul must have considered it very important! And it is a joy that stays with us through suffering, because of the hope we have in Christ. If we delight in Jesus and focus on Him, we will even go through suffering asking “What can I get out of this suffering?” rather than “When can I get out of this suffering?”.
