Changing lives through the Good News of Jesus Christ

Sanctification -making holy - 1 Peter 1:1-12

By Neville Jephcote on 23 April 2023 at Service in FAYAP and on Zoom with Communion

Neville gave us insight into living day by day as sanctified people, as well as its origins and application in the Old Testament with Joshua. He encouraged us that, although we should aim for holiness, we will not achieve this until we die and are in the presence of God.
A few points I noted:
-The Spirit’s sanctifying work helps us live for God.
-Becoming holy happens as we submit our all to following Jesus.
-The Hebrew word for ‘sanctify’ has meanings of being ‘set apart’ and ‘being prepared for a purpose’.
-We need to be prepared for whatever God has for us to do.
-It involves removing things that get in the way of our worshipping God (in the Old Testament, they were called idols)
There was so much more! This meaty, yet not very long, talk is well worth listening to -enjoy!
