Shame, blame and guilt - John 8:1-11 and 21:15-19
By Tony Hutt on 23 November 2025 at Morning Service on Zoom with Communion
Tony asks the question, ” Why didn’t Jesus condemn the woman (in John 8), as the law laid down in Leviticus is clear that both the man and woman who commit adultery should be stoned to death?”. Jesus chose not to judge her; he also chose not to judge Simon Peter.
Tony invited people to tell their stories of shame and blame. He reminds us that we are all guilty before God, but He has chosen to declare us not guilty through His Son. These slides provide bible readings, information on books and links to Forgiveness Project and more.
