Elizabeth (Bess)  takes us to the foot of Mount Sinai with Moses and the Israelites, washing their clothes to listen to God. They stopped their daily lives to focus on God, although at times they had not done so well.
With the New Covenant, brought by Jesus, we have His Spirit in us and are ‘clothed with righteousness’, see Revelation 7:14, so as to become witnesses for Him in our communities. This is our challenge, daily stopping to listen to God, keeping short accounts with Him, so as to witness more effectively.
