Changing lives through the Good News of Jesus Christ

Day Trip - Acts 14:8-20

By Ben Plant on 24 July 2022 at Service in FAYAP and on Zoom with Communion

Ben talks about Paul and Barnabas’s visit to Lystra and how it went from confusion to violent rejection and they were forced to leave. After sorting out the confusion he did get time for a good speech first, which may have played a part in young Timothy coming to Christ (see later in Acts).
Ben makes three points:
1. Astonishment -the people were astonished by a lame man being healed
2. Speech -our words matter and can convey the love and story of Jesus and the need for change
3. Rejection -sometimes it happens, the time isn’t right, so we just need to get on with the job elsewhere
