I apologise for forgetting to record the start of this talk, although the vast majority is included; also apologies that the headset mic was not switched on, so it sounds a little echoey!
Ben spoke on three points:
1. Celebrate new life
2. Death is defeated
3. There is good news
New life -despite his disciples being told three times that he would rise from death, they hadn’t taken in the information and were disheartened when he died.
Aslan’s death and rebirth was C S Lewis’ way of demonstrating to children the power Jesus has over death. As the only sinless person he died for our sin and defeated death for all time, giving us a second chance.
For our time on earth we are in a new covenant with God, where we have direct access to Him, and for those in pain, the good news is that, in eternity with God, there will be no more pain.
Are we hearing this Good News? and sharing it?
