Changing lives through the Good News of Jesus Christ

Finishing Well - Daniel 5

By Edith Peck on 28 February 2021 at Zoom Service with Communion

Edith helps us to understand the extent of Belshazzar’s sin against God and cautions us to consider what things/people are precious to us, perhaps more precious than God in our lives, and which things we are neglecting. Are there better ways we can live that are more honouring to God or do we sometimes get too ‘pally’ with the Lord of All?
The 24 minutes starts with a dramatised reading of Daniel 5. If you would rather not hear this, start listening at 7 mins 15s.

These images, pieces of music and video clips are mentioned (or extracts included) by Edith during her talk:
‘Belshazzar’s Feast’ by Rembrandt circa 1636
‘Belshazzar’s Teapot’ by Atanas Hranov
‘Belshazzar’s Feast’ by William Walton
‘Who Am I Living For?’ by Katy Perry
The Simpson’s episode ‘Pray Anything’ – season 14 episode 10.
