Mentor Friendship: Paul & Timothy - 2 Timothy 1:1-7 and Philippians 2:19-23

Her talk begins with a background about Timothy and of Paul’s relationship with him, including his being 30 years younger than Paul. She then laughingly introduces that she has three points, all starting with the same letter (!) and ably explains each as key to this close relationship:
Equipping – Paul wrote two letters to Timothy when he was pastoring believers in Ephesus
Entrusting – Paul gives Timothy responsibilities, even sending him to stand in for him
Empowering – this results from Paul’s equipping and trusting Timothy.
